Revitalize Gala

October 18th, 2011

Look at what we have been up to lately. Pairing with WICC Calgary local, and some amazingly talented artists! On November 20, 2011 6PM at the Gateway, we will be participating in the Revitalize Gala! www.revitalizegala.ca

Revitalize Gala is a unique local event that will host some of Calgary’s best up-and- coming local talents in music, dance, and fashion. We strive to become an annual event that supports our City’s eclectic creators by providing them with a platform to shine.

The vision for this event is to bring together entertainers, artists, designers, and the public to showcase the depth of talent of Calgary’s thriving art community. Our goal is to help Calgary grow with a positive awareness and continued interest in the arts. Revitalize Gala is a celebration of a local art community that is positive, innovative, and passionate about their craft and their city.

Partnering with Calgary’s charitable community is an added benefit for all parties associated with the Revitalize Gala. The essence of our event not only benefits Calgary’s art community and charitable community but it also inspires our citizens to be proud of what Calgary is all about. As Mayor Naheed Nenshi would say, “Great Art, Great City.”

Chopping off the locks!

June 16th, 2010

I have been shaving heads at the event for donations in years past, and this year, I will finally be contributing on a more personal level.

I will be cutting off and donating my hair to be made into a wig for cancer patients, some of whom suffer from Breast cancer, in an effort to help them regain some of their self confidence after treatments such as chemotherapy.

To donate please click the donate button

All proceeds go to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation-Prairies, NWT.

Any donation over $20 by cash, cheque or credit card is also tax refundable, and a tax receipt will be issued in 4-6 weeks from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

To view your money at work please visit:

Long time!

June 10th, 2010

It has been a long time we since posted!

It has been a whirlwind year for both Jenssen and myself, and we finally have the time and energy to keep up with the cause.

On a personal note, Jenssen and I were married July 18, 2009 in Summerland BC, and it was an amazing ceremony and reception filled with family, friends, and free flowing wine, and of course a few classic cars!

On the racing side, we havent been able to attend any events in 2010. Highriders will be the first, and in our estimation the most influential and important event of the year. 2010 also marks the 10th anniversary of the event. It is going to be bigger and better than previous years. The organizer Kevin Hennel and his team of volunteers and organizers have outdone themselves. Wheel2Wheel and Head2Head! Event details can be found at www.highriders.ca

In addition to this years race, we will be raising funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Alberta NWT division again. And in exciting news, in addition to shaving the heads of others, I will be donating my locks for a wig for cancer patients. Yup, finally making the personal contribution to an excellent cause. Stay tuned for pre-chop photos of my hair donation.

Please bear with us as we have switched site hosts, and due to our lack of technical knowledge are experiencing some difficulties.

Thanks for all of your interest and support thus far.

Keep the oily side down,

S

On a Personal note,…

July 13th, 2009

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for taking a moment to visit our site, we are on a short hiatus from the interweb here and won’t be updating the site for the next few weeks. On Saturday July 18th in Summerland BC Stephanie is going to make me an honest man! So needless to say all of this will be taking a backseat for a while :)
Just as a quick note we will be posting up the results from the fund raising from HRC 2009 as well as some big Thank-you’s to our volunteers and Brave the Shave participants. We would also like to thank all the people that lent us a hand at HRC with Axel swaps and spare parts to keep us going.
Lastly we will also be introducing 2 new Team Members to the www.racingforthecure.ca roster and some new sponsors to keep the ol’Heep going!
So keep your eyes peeled for some big changes to the site and the team!
