Inspiration

You know there are things in life that inspire you, sometimes its things you face in life, sometimes its things that other people face.

www.racingforthecure.ca was inspired  my Mom Barb Hillman who has fought Breast Cancer 3 times AND WON!  She not only beat Cancer but she inspired others to do the same, she became president of the foundation in Ontario and has been involved in Cancer fundraisers across Canada.

In 2008 I was inspired again, by my soon to be wife Stephanie MacDonald. She asked what the competitions were really accomplishing,.. and it made me think.

So after contacting the Candian Breast Cancer Foundation Prairies/NWT we started down the road to www.racingforthecure.ca to raise awarness , funding and support for all those Women and Men who have been affected by Breast Cancer.

December 5, 1968 – January 9, 2009

Moe was an inspiration to many — she was not only a successful teacher and entrepreneur, running her own award-winning graphic design business and leading classes at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit with impeccable grace, but was also the kind of person whose smile lit up a room and whose warmth won her friends wherever she went. ¬†She obviously had a lust for life: she was a talented athlete, and loved to travel and to seek out good food and wine with friends and family. ¬†She was also, put simply, a good person; the kind of person who, even in the face of her own illness, always exhibited incredible care and concern for others. ¬†Moe died in January 2009 after a courageous two-and-a-half year battle with cancer, and is sorely, sorely missed.

Do you have someone in your life that has been affected by Breast Cancer?

Send us the info at jenssen@racingforthecure.ca and/or Stephanie@racingforthecure.ca with a Bio, Picture and their history. (Won, lost  or currently in the fight!)
